Double Degree Program

Introduction:

Master program of Geomatics Engineering, in collaboration with the University of Glasgow, conducts double degree programs in three different areas:

The programs are now available and admit new students.

What is a double degree program?

  1. A “1 + 1” Program, where students spend one year at UGM and 1 year at the University of Glasgow.
  2. Students start at UGM in the odd semester (August, only one intake every year), spend one year at UGM and move to the University of Glasgow around August/September the next year.
  3. Students take selected subjects offered by UGM and all subjects offered by the University of Glasgow. Please check the above website at the University of Glasgow.
  4. Students obligatorily produce thesis, jointly supervised by professors at UGM and the University of Glasgow.
  5. Publishing at least one work (an article in journal or proceeding) is obligatory.
  6. Students are awarded two master degrees from UGM and the University of Glasgow.
  7. Students have to secure a Letter of Admission of the Double Degree administered by UGM (um.ugm.ac.id)

Requirements:

  1. GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0)
  2. Academic Potential Test (TPA) of 450 (PAPs UGM, TPDA PLTI, TPA Bappenas)
  3. English Proficiency of overall 6.5 with no subtests under 6.0 (IELTS) or others equivalent
  4. Current Accreditation Certificate of your institution
  5. Motivation Letter (the format is available at um.ugm.ac.id)
  6. Recommendation Letter (2) (the format and procedure are available at um.ugm.ac.id)
  7. Research Outline/Topic (use this format)
  8. Study Permit from your institution (if applicable)
  9. Statement of document originality (officiated by a notary)

Application Process:

  1. In applying for Double Degree, candidates will be assisted by the admission admin at the Master Program of Geomatics Engineering of UGM. Candidates are obliged to contact the admin through s2geomatika@ugm.ac.id
  2. Candidates must apply for the desired double degree program through um.ugm.ac.id. In this scenario, candidates are required to submit their application exclusively to UGM and are not required to apply to the University of Glasgow. When completing the application, please select “Magister Teknik Geomatika” and choose “Biaya Sendiri” instead of “Pelamar Beasiswa” as you have not yet secured any scholarship.
  3. Once the application documents are complete and all requirements are fulfilled, UGM will invite the candidates for further selection process (interview).
  4. UGM will issue a Letter of Admission (LoA) for a candidate if she/he has fulfilled all the requirements.
  5. The LoA provided by UGM also means that the candidate has also been admitted to the relevant program at the University of Glasgow.
  6. Using the abovementioned LoA, such candidate can then apply for the LPDP scholarship. Make sure to apply for the double degree scheme.
  7. Candidates will need to go through all the selection process until final result is released.
  8. Upon notification of the scholarship final result, candidates can initiate the registration process by contacting the administrator of the Magister Teknik Geomatika program.
  9. Candidates are now students and ready to start their academic journey at the program.
